Gen Z has become the richest generation, but with a small caveat. By the age of 28, members of this generation earn 25% more than millennials and 50% more than boomers.

But the catch is that inflation wipes out the entire difference—and even more. So, even though they’re richer on paper, Gen Z is much poorer than previous generations.
