【Someone asked me if FIL can still make a move up? I said don’t rush】
Last night, an old friend came to see me, excited. He told me FIL is up almost 30%, FNG is at 71, and he asked if this means an opportunity has arrived.
I looked at the data and didn’t answer right away.
Guess what I saw?
FNG is 71, with last week’s average at 66. In other words, this week’s market heat is even higher than the average of the previous week. What does that mean in the crypto world? It means sentiment is speeding up toward the top.
FIL’s 30-day increase is 38%, up 28% over the past 7 days. It was also up 4.7% in a single day yesterday. Honestly, that pace is a bit scary.
But that’s not the main point I want to make today.
The key question is: in this move, is real demand in the storage track actually showing up—or is it just the market’s sentiment being driven by speculation?
I’ve been in Web3 for many years. I’ve seen too many projects get pumped to the sky on nothing more than an idea. But what truly breaks out isn’t hype—it’s whether the business logic can actually be implemented.
The story Filecoin tells is decentralized storage, and that direction isn’t wrong. But how many enterprises are actually using FIL for storage right now? In the ecosystem, how many stand-out real applications are there? That’s the real issue.
I’m not saying FIL is bad. I’m saying: if you jump in right now, what are you buying?
Is it a token that’s already up nearly 40%? Or is it a blockchain that can genuinely solve storage needs?
You need to think that through yourself.
History won’t repeat exactly, but it’s always strikingly similar. People who enter near the peak of greed usually end up becoming someone else’s fuel.
I’m not bearish on FIL. I just think that at a time like this, at the very least, you should keep some “ammunition” and leave room for hedging.
When did you set your stop-loss last time? And how’s your position sizing/control right now?
