🏁 Leaders of China and the U.S. meet—can the big bet really get the meat?
$BTC
The US-China summit is set to land this week: visiting the U.S. on the 23rd–25th, with formal talks at the White House on the 24th. The market has already started to run ahead these past two days: the big bet has jumped from around 81,000 to about 86,000–87,000, with risk appetite clearly recovering.#比特币突破8.7万美元创八个月新高
The logic isn’t complicated—today’s BTC is more like a high-beta risk asset, not a pure safe-haven. Once expectations of U.S.-China easing come out, what everyone is trading is: don’t add further to the trade, don’t let geopolitics blow up, and don’t drain liquidity. Oil follows downward, stocks cooperate, and coins naturally rise first as a salute.
But don’t get too excited yet.
Back in May in Beijing, it also rose first and then wobbled: the moment Taiwan-related statements came out, it dumped in an instant. This time is similar—expectations have already been partially priced in. The real key is what comes out of the talks on the 24th:
A trade truce can be extended, and the tone softens a bit → risk appetite can hold up for a while longer
Or it’s just going through the motions, or Taiwan and export controls are hit hard again → it easily turns into “buy the expectation, sell the fact”
The long-term competitive landscape hasn’t changed. One meeting can’t alter the big direction. In the short term, it’s a game of emotions versus implementation.
What do you think about this time—will we keep pushing higher, or will you first lock in profits for safety? Let’s talk about it.
