BTC is ranging at the high level, while altcoins are diverging. US stocks are mixed, and oil prices have fallen for the fifth consecutive day.
Market highlights
1. After BTC surged to 8.74w, it consolidated sideways. During the prior breakout, futures positions increased by more than $2 billion; short-term leverage is on the high side, and 8.5w has become an important support level.
2. Old coin BCH spiked up by about 29%, with trading volume exceeding $1.2 billion. The CME Group will launch BCH and Uniswap futures to expand its crypto derivatives product suite. LTC rose by about 2%, and ETC by about 6%.
3. DeFi’s UNI rose by about 13%. A governance vote proposes expanding the protocol fee and UNI burn mechanism to Circle’s Arc chain; AAVE is slightly up, while ONDO and Morpho fell about 2%-3%.
4. Privacy coins remain active: ZEC is up about 11% and up about 40% over the past week; DASH is up about 9%, and XMR is down about 3%. ZEC exchange flows handled by NEAR intents have recently grown noticeably.
5. Infrastructure coins catch up: Mina is up about 21%, ZRO up about 18%, TIA up about 15%, OP up about 7%, and FIL up about 6%. STRK and AR continue to retrace.
6. Binance completed a $100 million investment in Circle and extended their USDC collaboration for five more years.
