86,900, just 0.07% away from 87,000—yet it’s already turned into a shouting match.

One side is saying, “The level is broken—bear market signals are here.” The other says, “It’s just a stop-hunt trap, waiting to liquidate the short-sellers.”

But the price hasn’t even stretched its toes beyond this line yet.

In the last 15 minutes it’s down over 1%, and there are a bunch of reasons being thrown around: forced liquidation, thin order books, a large single order, and even the possibility of bad news. This alert doesn’t tell you which one it is—but one thing is certain: marginal risk appetite is shrinking.

The “integer level” crowd: calling the bear market before a failed retest is too early.

The short-sellers: the alert didn’t provide anything concrete like open interest, funding rate, or liquidation data—so you can’t tell who’s actually being squeezed.

The value-buyers: it says nothing about spot/ETF inflow data; “someone is taking the other side” is just speculation.

The “news” folks: no trace of any catalyst—don’t rush to make up a story.

I’m not watching whether “the 87,000 line is broken.” What I care about is whether the next bounce can hold steady. If we don’t get that signal, I lean slightly bearish in the short term—but chasing shorts right now is still too early. If a bounce really brings price back above 87,000 and it holds, then that would be a liquidity wash, not a downtrend—and the view would still need to be overturned.
