$BTC Midday Report: At the $86,500 line, $86.5K USD is in play; over the past 24 hours it’s up 1.28%. Just after 13:00, price briefly touched the $87,000 integer mark, but it didn’t hold and slipped back again. Bulls and bears are still wrestling at this level. The Greed Index is 71 and still in the greed zone, but price hasn’t pushed higher further; sentiment and the order book have pulled apart again.
There’s been plenty going on on-chain today. The Solana network has launched the Alpenglow upgrade public testing, aiming to compress transaction finality from 12.8 seconds down to 150 milliseconds. If this line runs smoothly, high-frequency strategies will likely re-select their side. At the same time, NEAR has officially deployed to a cross-chain perpetual contracts platform’s spot market—cross-chain assets now have yet another exit. Major exchanges haven’t been idle either: at 8:00 this evening, they plan to list three tokenized securities trading pairs. With established equities opening up on-chain, this latest move cuts another notch lower.
In the past few days where the mainstream has been edging upward, on-chain new narratives have been keeping close pace. Only after breaking above $87,000 should we talk about the $90,000 integer mark. If a pullback can’t hold the $86,000 level, it’ll slide back into the $85,000 step and trade range there—don’t expect it to be a one-shot move.
