The biggest problem with short-term trading and swing trading is that once you form momentum, a big drop or a big surge will eventually hit you. Spot trading is fine—at its core, spot trading is about taking a single direction. But with futures, it’s not like that: you trade both long and short, and sooner or later something will go wrong. To avoid that, you need to go against human nature and develop the habit of stopping losses when you miss a prediction, rather than choosing to add positions to “fight” against it. The more times you add on to “resist,” the closer you get to falling completely into the abyss.
