1️⃣. The reserve bill passes in principle✔️
The House Financial Services Committee passed the “U.S. Reserve Modernization Act” 28:21. Within 180 days, the Treasury will build a strategic Bitcoin reserve; federal agencies must report their crypto assets within 60 days. The U.S. holds about 328,000 BTC worth approximately $24.7 billion, locked for 20 years and not to be sold—equivalent to removing about 1.5% of the circulating supply.

2️⃣. The Senate 49:50 fails to clear the 60-vote threshold
BTC briefly plunged to $74,910. But the SEC quickly issued an “innovation exemption”: within five years, it will allow tokenized stocks to trade on-chain; platforms are temporarily exempt from being deemed exchanges, market makers are exempt from registering as broker-dealers; and the CFTC also exempts developers. Bernstein: the SEC/CFTC will “actively and swiftly” advance the rules.

3️⃣. $77 trillion in U.S. stocks to go on-chain🎉
The SEC has approved a pilot for blockchain stock trading. The market cap of tokenized stocks has already hit a new high of $3.2 billion, up 1219% year-on-year. Over 30 days, DEX trading volume reached $15.75 billion. U.S. stocks will trade 24/7—traditional finance and crypto finance boundaries are disappearing.

After this week’s early strong surge, the market is still holding at elevated levels. BTC is currently around $86.5K–87K, ETH around $2.7K–2.8K, XRP around $1.62, and SOL around $118.

But what’s truly worth paying attention to now isn’t just the price.

🔥 The forces driving the market

1️⃣ ETF fund flows are once again the core

U.S. spot ETFs continue to see inflows. On September 21, daily net inflows into Bitcoin spot ETFs were nearly $1 billion, and institutional demand remains an important support for this leg of the rally.

As of September 22, fund flows for ETFs tied to BTC, ETH, SOL, and XRP are still active, though some funds’ final data is still being updated.

2️⃣ Short squeezes further amplify the uptrend

During BTC’s move above $85K, large amounts of short positions were liquidated.

When shorts begin to be forced to close, the market receives additional upside fuel—price acceleration is no longer relying entirely on new buy pressure.

3️⃣ ZEC suddenly becomes a focal point

Recently, a 3D artist bought an RTX 5090 graphics card at a secondhand market and unexpectedly found a globally unique treasure: an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 White OC 30th Anniversary Edition, with the card’s backplate bearing NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang’s handwritten signature.
This 3D artist said that, together with a friend, they bought two RTX 5090 cards from the secondhand market for a 3D project. One of the cards was identified as the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 White OC version. At first, he thought the signature came from some ASUS executive.

Unusual events usually mean something is brewing—what big move are they holding back?
The Fed is clearly hawkish, yet BTC/ETH haven’t fallen; instead, capital has flowed back in. Gold has been weighed down by high interest rates and the strength of the dollar. On September 16, the Fed raised rates by 25bp to 3.75%–4.00% and made it clear that inflation is still elevated. On September 22, Fed officials continued to release hawkish signals; Reuters reported that the market at the time assigned roughly a 90% probability to another rate hike in December.
But at the same time:
On September 21, US spot BTC ETFs saw net inflows of about $999 million. On the same day, spot ETH ETFs saw net inflows of about $270 million. BTC briefly surged above $87,300. Over the past few days, BTC has shown a strong squeeze-like push. ETH has already broken above the prior key technical resistance around $2,661, reaching $2,806.
So right now, the most important thing isn’t simply judging “bull vs. bear,” but this:
Risk assets are challenging a hawkish-leaning macro environment. As long as fund flows continue to support, the trend can keep going. But if ETF inflows and spot buying weaken, high leverage may amplify the downside pullback in return. ⑦If 80000 breaks, it indicates bulls are weakening, the structure is weakening, and shorts may take over
