๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Japan: Tokyo's cash market was fully closed today for the Autumnal Equinox Day holiday, so there's no fresh Nikkei 225 print. Oil stayed subdued while tech led gains elsewhere in the region.
๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท South Korea: KOSPI held onto gains at midday, up 0.48% at 7,051.28 (as of 04:32 UTC), after opening nearly 2% higher and paring the advance. Samsung Electronics rose 2.71% to 284,000 won; SK Hynix edged up 0.43% to 1,848,000 won.
๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Hong Kong: The Hang Seng Index ended the morning session down 0.76% at a half-day close of 24,896.04 โ€” slipping below 25,000. The Hang Seng Tech Index fell 0.97%. Big tech names dropped broadly โ€” Alibaba, Xiaomi, and Tencent all lower โ€” while mainland property stocks bucked the trend, with Ronshine China up more than 19%. Kingboard Laminates gained over 5%, while Zhipu fell more than 6%.
๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ผ Taiwan: The TAIEX climbed 0.69% to 48,132.12, lifted by chip stocks after August export orders hit a record high on strong AI demand. TSMC gained 1.22% to NT$2,490, Hon Hai rose 1.19%, while MediaTek slipped 0.10%.
๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ Mainland China: The Shanghai Composite fell 0.36% to a half-day close of 3,938.08, the Shenzhen Component lost 0.58%, and the ChiNext Index declined 0.43%.
