The hardest thing for a trader is never a single losing trade—it’s that you’re doing nothing, yet your mind keeps trading.

In a flat position you’re afraid of missing the breakout; when entering you fear stopping out; when you’re in profit you worry about giving it back; and when you’re losing you keep thinking you should quickly earn it back.

When the market rises you regret not buying; when it falls you’re glad you didn’t chase. You spend your day watching the market, and in the end, what gets consumed isn’t money—it’s yourself.

Later I finally understood: nearly all the anxiety of a trader comes from one thing—wanting certainty in an uncertain market.

But the market will never give anyone certainty.

If you don’t understand, don’t do it. If you miss it, wait for the next time. If your judgment is wrong, cut the loss. Money that belongs to the system should be earned; if it doesn’t belong to you, let that move go.

I used to think that the better I traded, the more confident I would feel inside. But later I found out it’s exactly the opposite.

After you truly mature, you still don’t know how the next candlestick will go—you just no longer need to know.

When your heart finally steps away from the market, trading truly becomes yours
