OpenAI has released updated versions of its GPT-6 Sol and Luna models, with API access costs reduced by 50% compared to those of the previous 5.6 series. Sol is optimized for complex tasks, especially coding, while Luna handles routine, high-volume tasks such as document summarization and information extraction. An internal evaluation showed that GPT-6 Sol makes about 50% fewer errors than its predecessor. Both models are now available in ChatGPT Work, the ChatGPT API, and Codex for most paid accounts, while Luna is being gradually rolled out to desktop and to users of the free offer.
