To be honest, I’m a bit confused by this AI stock rally.

NVIDIA says chip sales will double. Over at OpenAI and Anthropic, their revenue forecasts are one more impressive than the last. The compute investment seems like it’s free. A bunch of people around me are asking whether there’s still time to get on the bandwagon.

My own feeling is: AI demand is definitely real, but the stock price has already digested all these good messages. If you jump in now, the value-for-money isn’t great. It’s not that this rally is over, but in the short term it needs a breather—you shouldn’t expect to just buy in casually and start making money.

Compared to NVIDIA, I’d rather look at the chain behind it. Chips are just the most exciting part. Power and cooling are what will truly become the bottleneck next. Data centers’ electricity use is getting more and more outrageous. Things like liquid cooling, optical modules, and power grid equipment—these will probably be brought up and炒作 again later.

As for the big shots arguing over AI—things like slowing AI development and forming AI “armies”—I think it’s only a matter of time before the government gets involved. That’s probably a long-term positive for AI stocks, but in the short term they’ll definitely jump around with policy and geopolitical news.

I’m not in a rush to make a move right now. I’ll wait and see if there’s a pullback. I’ll also occasionally take a glance at crypto—things like decentralized compute and AI agents—but this area is even crazier than US stocks. If I do participate, it would have to be a small position. I wouldn’t dare to go all-in.

What do you think—can we still chase these AI stocks now? Or should we, like me, wait and observe for a bit?
