[Binance invests $100 million to subscribe to Circle shares and renews its USDC strategic partnership]

Binance, as disclosed in an SEC filing, will invest $100 million to subscribe for 1.237 million shares of Circle’s common stock at a price of $80.84 per share. At the same time, the two parties have renewed their five-year USDC strategic cooperation agreement.

This deal is not just a simple product partnership. Binance will be upgraded from Circle’s product collaboration partner to a shareholder and global distribution partner. According to the disclosed plan, Binance will focus on promoting USDC on its global platform going forward. By contrast, Binance’s partner OKX’s prior collaboration with Circle has mainly focused on infrastructure and technology layers such as CCTP cross-chain and native USDC. Binance’s deep equity linkage signals that Circle is accelerating the build-out of a global stablecoin distribution network comprising Coinbase, Binance, and OKX.

This development directly changes the competitive landscape of the stablecoin market. As one of the largest crypto entry points, Binance’s large-scale promotion of USDC will have far-reaching effects on the structure of the existing stablecoin market—especially with USDT, its main competitor, facing direct share squeeze. The market will next need to watch for the specific deployment progress of USDC within the Binance platform and whether USDT holdings show corresponding signs of outflows.
