This rally in XRP isn’t that aggressive, yet the shorts paid tuition first.

The low in the past 24 hours was 1.47, the high touched 1.5745. The current price is around 1.55, up 4.7%. With just this amount of increase, XRP futures liquidations totaled $23.3 million: $18 million from shorts, accounting for 77%.

Ranting is one thing, but the positions are still being added. The total contract open interest has increased by 9.5% over the past 24 hours, reaching $2.64 billion. About 80% of the positions that were liquidated in the last hour were shorts—betting on a pullback money got collected again and again.

To put it plainly, the market hasn’t given short sellers a dignified exit opportunity.
