Balancer 社区 this time isn’t just a simple revamp—it’s more like finding a “life-support” route for the protocol.

According to PANews, the community has put forward a proposal called “Branching and Rebirth,” intending for MAXYZ to lead an official fork to take over liquidity, the team, partners, users, and intellectual property. Regardless of whether the shutdown proposal is approved, the fund pool and treasury are, in principle, scheduled to operate until the end of Q2 2027. About 6 million non-circulating BAL tokens will be used as pre-seed funding for the fork; if a TGE is carried out after the fork, Balancer’s treasury will receive 10% of the new token’s FDV in advance. The forked entity will also receive a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to Balancer-related intellectual property.

On one hand, this kind of plan provides an exit for the protocol’s continuation; on the other hand, it also brings the pressure the original protocol is facing into the spotlight. Next, we’ll first see whether the Snapshot vote moves forward, and then whether liquidity, the team, and partners will truly migrate.

If you’re tracking BAL, what matters more to you: whether the fork can actually be implemented, or how the rights to the new tokens will be allocated?
