TAO Breaks $320: Is the AI Track Moving Again?
TAO today directly broke above $320 and once briefly touched a new high around $325, with a gain of over 20% in 24 hours.
What’s worth paying attention to in this TAO move isn’t just that it’s rising fast—the underlying logic behind it is changing.
Previously, the market was mostly “trading” TAO based on the concept of “decentralized AI.” Now, Bittensor’s logic is increasingly resembling an AI resource market: different Subnets provide AI services such as models, compute, and data, and TAO is an important value carrier for the entire network.
More importantly, TAO completed its first halving in December 2025. The current base emission is about 0.5 TAO per block—roughly 3,600 TAO per day—with a maximum supply of 21 million.
So an interesting combination is emerging:
AI demand growth → increased Subnet activity → higher TAO ecosystem demand → slower issuance speed → a widening supply-demand gap → amplified price elasticity for TAO.
And this year, Bittensor’s mechanisms are continuing to strengthen the logic of “the strong get more resources.” After the July Emission Gate upgrade, the top Subnets saw a clear increase in their share of emission allocations, while weaker Subnets experienced a significant drop.
This means that future TAO upside may not rely only on market speculation—it will also depend on which Subnets can truly attract capital, developers, and AI demand.
But after breaking $320, there’s also a risk to watch: it’s moving too fast.
TAO previously surged quickly from the low $200s to around $320, and the short term has already built up a large amount of profit-taking positions. If TAO can break $320 and then pull back without losing that level, it suggests this area is turning from a resistance zone into support. If it spikes and then falls back below $300, you’ll need to guard against a failed breakout and concentrated profit-taking.
So in the near term, I’ll focus on:
$320: the first validation level after the breakout;
$300: an important psychological support level;
around $280: if there’s a deeper pullback, you can observe whether capital is stepping in.
What’s truly worth expecting from this TAO cycle isn’t just the AI narrative, but whether changes in AI demand, the Subnets ecosystem, and post-halving supply can create a resonance—especially whether capital is coming back to the AI + Crypto track.
If $320 holds steady, the market’s attention may shift from “how much TAO has risen” to whether Bittensor can become the foundational infrastructure that truly generates economic activity within an AI chain.
