Key Points

  • Trueo is relocating its prediction-market infrastructure from Base network to Ethereum’s mainnet.

  • Current Base-hosted markets will remain operational throughout the migration, with fresh markets set to expire post-January 31, 2027 being routed to Ethereum.

  • TRUE token owners will receive unlimited time to complete migration, with upcoming staking benefits and liquidity incentives shifting to Ethereum.

  • According to Trueo, Ethereum provides superior liquidity depth, extensive integration possibilities, and stronger infrastructure for its planned oracle upgrade.

  • Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum’s co-founder, publicly endorsed the initiative’s emphasis on decentralization and prediction market architecture.

The prediction-market protocol Trueo is gearing up for a strategic relocation from Base, Coinbase’s Layer 2 solution, to Ethereum’s primary network as it pursues enhanced liquidity pools and expanded integration possibilities. According to the development team, Base served as an ideal launching platform for 2025, but Ethereum aligns more closely with the protocol’s extended roadmap.

Glad to see that Ethereum L1 will have a new strong prediction market contender that is dedicated to decentralization, and being ethical and not corposlop, and to actually trying to do interesting and meaningful things with this class of economic primitive.…

The migration process is still underway, with Trueo’s smart contracts currently operational on Base. Active markets will maintain full functionality for trading, settlement, and withdrawal operations while the Ethereum infrastructure is being finalized.

Strategic Relocation to Ethereum Mainnet

Trueo debuted on Base during March 2025, utilizing blockchain-based binary prediction markets. The system employs a specialized Uniswap v4 hook mechanism, with TYD serving as the designated payment token for market positions and oracle security deposits.

According to the development team, Base markets scheduled to conclude throughout 2026 remain available for creation. Conversely, participants intending to establish markets extending beyond January 31, 2027 are advised to await the Ethereum launch.

The platform identified Ethereum’s superior integration capabilities, extensive liquidity resources, and mature decentralized finance infrastructure as primary motivators. Additionally, the team highlighted that reduced transaction expenses have rendered Ethereum mainnet increasingly viable compared to Trueo’s initial deployment phase.

Base was initially selected due to elevated Ethereum network fees and the experimental nature of certain protocol features. Trueo now emphasizes its strategic vision of achieving widespread adoption, operating without permissions, maintaining immutability, and supporting comprehensive integrations.

Token Migration and Staking Transition

The TRUE governance and oracle utility token will undergo parallel migration to Ethereum. The project has deliberately avoided imposing migration deadlines, characterizing the transition period as indefinite.

Upcoming staking programs and liquidity mining campaigns will operate exclusively on Ethereum following the mainnet deployment. Throughout this transitional phase, Base-hosted markets will continue functioning under existing settlement protocols.

Publicly available deployment records continue showing Trueo’s primary smart contracts on Base, encompassing the TruthMarketManager, OracleCouncil, and OracleBonds contracts. Ethereum mainnet contract locations have not been disclosed at this time.

Data from DefiLlama referenced in coverage indicated approximately $796,000 in total value locked within Trueo, with complete tracked TVL concentrated on Base. The platform maintains a modest footprint relative to leading blockchain prediction market platforms.

Buterin’s Public Endorsement

Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum’s co-founder, openly expressed support for Trueo’s mainnet migration. He commended the protocol’s commitment to decentralization and suggested prediction markets possess potential for substantial applications extending beyond speculative trading.

Buterin’s statement contained no indication of Ethereum Foundation funding, grant allocation, or official collaboration. His response consisted solely of public recognition for the project’s methodology and intended Ethereum deployment.

Trueo is simultaneously engineering an advanced oracle mechanism for adjudicating contested prediction market results. The existing framework enables participants to submit outcome proposals, initiating a 12-hour dispute window and multiple escalation tiers for challenged resolutions.

The protocol ensures market parameters, resolution criteria, and documentation are permanently recorded on-chain during market initialization. This approach prevents retroactive modification of contractual conditions following deployment.

Trueo has not disclosed a specific timeline for its Ethereum mainnet release. In the interim, Base continues hosting the active protocol while migration development and next-generation oracle engineering progress.
