According to CoinDesk, Cardano has been included in the official x402 software suite. Developers can build applications and AI agents that provide online payment services with automatic payouts using ADA or Cardano ecosystem tokens. x402 was initially introduced by Coinbase in 2025, using the HTTP 402 status code to enable native internet payments. Currently, Solana, the XRP Ledger, and multiple EVM networks support this standard.
