Sometimes when I think about it, it’s quite interesting. How could a place that truly enables ordinary people to steadily and consistently share in growth possibly just swing its doors open so easily and let everyone in without a second thought? There are always some invisible constraints—thresholds, rules, limits, time windows. In contrast, those places that look like opportunities are everywhere and that everyone can participate in tend to be the most lively, and also the easiest to forget one basic truth—that the market is never a charity. The more anyone can enter the trading table, the more you need to figure out clearly who is collecting the chips.
I’m increasingly convinced that what’s truly worth holding long-term usually doesn’t need daily emotional storytelling to justify itself. Let time, company growth, and the index itself do the earning—not by constantly passing the baton to new people.
