Especially in recent years, the switch between bull and bear markets has happened only over the span of a day or two. Try to use fewer terms like “bull market” and “bear market” to describe market conditions, because it’s easy to get trapped in fixed ways of thinking.

Maybe we’re still in a bear market now, but at this moment there’s a clear upward trend. If you short while holding a bear-market mindset, you can end up losing your returns for the whole year together with your principal.

Once there’s an obvious upward trend, immediately stop-loss any short positions and flip to long. Don’t rely on wishful thinking. And don’t wait—most of the time, retail traders love to wait, but they don’t even know what they’re waiting for. Take today’s market as an example: if BTC suddenly crashes hard—from 80,600 to 80,000—would you dare to get on the ride? I guess you still wouldn’t. And once you wait, you end up missing the move.

The same goes the other way around. If you feel something is off near the top, run the moment it’s “about right,” and don’t get stuck in the so-called bull-market mindset. In just one or two days, the market can reverse at any time.

This is my experience from the past few years. I’m sharing it with my brother traders.
