【What is blockchain? Explain it with an analogy】
Beginners often hear others talk about “blockchain” and think it’s too complicated. Actually, you can understand it in one sentence.
1. What exactly is a blockchain?
Imagine a ledger:
1️⃣ Everyone on the entire network has an identical copy
2️⃣ Each transaction is recorded in a “block,” arranged in chronological order
3️⃣ Blocks are linked one after another—that’s a “blockchain”
To tamper with records, you’d have to change the ledgers of everyone on the whole network at the same time—almost impossible. That’s the underlying principle of “decentralization, immutability.”
2. What problem does it solve?
In the past, transfers relied on banks to record transactions. The bank is the central authority, and if it changes the ledger, you can’t do anything about it. With blockchain, the ledger is shared and updated together by everyone. No single party can decide on their own, so you don’t have to trust any central entity—you only need to trust the code and consensus.
3. What does it have to do with ordinary people?
✅ The transfers behind Bitcoin are powered by blockchain
✅ It ensures digital assets truly belong to you, without being frozen or misused by the platform
❌ Don’t equate “blockchain” with “trading coins”—blockchain is the technology; cryptocurrencies are just one of its applications
❌ People who just say “blockchain is the trend” but can’t explain the technology are probably just here to cut you down (scam/“harvest”)
One sentence: Blockchain is “a ledger everyone records together”—you don’t rely on authority; you rely on math and consensus to create trust.
