🚨 USDC injects $4M into Chile: blessing or regulator trap?

Circle, the company behind USDC, has just injected US$4 million into a Chilean payments startup. It’s the largest investment by a stablecoin in the country and comes right when the CMF is only just discussing crypto regulations. This will force local exchanges to integrate USDC, raising compliance costs and concentrating the flow in the hands of large banks, while also exposing Chile to possible US sanctions. In my opinion, this is a trap: it looks like support, but it creates a dependency that will eventually end independent crypto. Do you think Chile is ready for a wave of USDC, or will it spell the end of local crypto?
