According to Sina Finance, Hanwha Aerospace plans to invest $2.2 billion over seven years to build a new ammunition production center at the U.S. Army Pine Bluff Arsenal in Arkansas. Hanwha Defense USA, a subsidiary of Hanwha Aerospace, will build the facility to produce 155 mm shell components and propellant. The production center will establish an integrated manufacturing system covering the full process from raw materials to finished products. The company also plans to expand its U.S. defense business based on the Arkansas ammunition center and its wheeled K9 self-propelled howitzer prototype facility in Alabama.
