Ceer, the Saudi startup, unveiled its first two battery-electric models on Monday and said it plans to add five more models by 2030. According to Sina Finance, the company said the two premium models, a sedan and an SUV, will be sold in Saudi Arabia in early 2027 under the name Exobot.
Ceer CEO Jim DeLuca said the company removed the traditional pillar between the front and rear seats and instead used high-strength materials for structural support. Ceer is a joint venture between Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund and Foxconn.
The company still faces challenges, including obstacles seen in Saudi Arabia's earlier efforts to diversify domestic auto production and logistics and inflation issues stemming from the conflict between Israel and Iran. Ceer said Foxconn provides the electrical architecture for the Exobot models, while BMW provides engineering support.
DeLuca said Ceer initially positioned itself as a battery-electric vehicle maker, but its full lineup will also include plug-in hybrid and internal combustion models. After Monday's launch, Ceer plans to introduce five mainstream models between 2028 and 2030 and aims to enter neighboring markets in 2028 before expanding across the Middle East and North Africa.
