According to TAIFEX, JPX and HKET, Asian index futures pointed sharply higher in the overnight session after a Wall Street chip-led rally. On Monday, the Nasdaq Composite rose 2.26% to a record close of 27,122.09 and the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index surged 4.29% to 12,433.17, while U.S. crude fell 4.5% to $95.78 a barrel and the 10-year Treasury yield eased to about 4.96% ahead of this week's Trump-Xi summit.

Nikkei 225 index futures rallied in Osaka's overnight session. The near-month December 2026 contract closed the night at 66,380, up 1,280 points, trading between a low of 64,590 and a high of 66,530 on volume of 14,216 contracts, per JPX official data as of 06:00 JST. The most-active Nikkei 225 mini December contract settled at 66,370, up 1,270.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index futures firmed in after-hours trade, with the night session closing at 25,118, up 74 points; the mainland China proxy index tracked by HKET rose 0.7% to 5,828. In ADR trade, Tencent's ADR was up 1.89% at an HK-equivalent 438.12, Meituan's ADR added 0.34% to 74.25 and HSBC's ADR gained 0.27% to 161.93, while Alibaba's U.S.-listed shares rose 0.80% to 113.50. Southbound flows drew a net HK$4.07 billion, an 11th straight session of inflows.

Taiwan's TAIEX futures extended gains overnight. The near-month October contract closed the night session at 48,781, up 728 points or 1.51%, opening at 48,121 with a low of 48,105 and a high of 48,805 on volume of 20,885 contracts, per TAIFEX. TSMC futures rose NT$25 in after-hours trade, pointing to continued strength in chip and AI names.
