Spaces has launched Trust Anchor, which lets applications verify human-readable identities directly on Bitcoin without relying on centralized servers. According to Odaily, users can obtain a single Trust ID and scan or paste it into Spaces-compatible apps to verify identifiers such as alice@bitcoin based on locally verified Spaces protocol state.

The Trust ID is generated from the Bitcoin block header chain and Spaces cumulative state. On macOS, the Veritas app can generate the ID without running a Bitcoin full node, while users can also connect their own node or generate the same Trust ID through the Spaces client. The system is designed to use Bitcoin as the basis for a decentralized certificate authority so applications can authenticate identities without trusting company servers.
