U.S. market opens; tonight’s macro news is a bit spicy.
First, $HYPE : Grayscale posted that Kraken’s parent company, Payward, plans to bring the HIP-3 market of Hyperliquid to U.S. traders. A perpetual DEX with Q2 average open interest of $9.0 billion—this time it’s landing in the U.S. in a compliant way. Previously, people kept saying that decentralized derivatives are just regulatory arbitrage; now they’re coming to the U.S. openly and competing head-on with CEX’s derivatives business.
The ECB also pulled a move: the digital euro has officially launched, starting with tokenized payments in the interbank market. Don’t complain that the pace is slow—when the central bank itself steps in to handle tokenized settlement, the RWA narrative effectively gets official endorsement.
On the risk side, don’t pretend you can’t see: Goolsbee said that if inflation doesn’t ease, rate hikes are on the table. Oil is also being pinned around the $100 mark by the Hormuz crisis. U.S. diesel hit a record $6.51, and tanker charter rates are over $1 million per day. Don’t expect liquidity to loosen in the short term—this soup is lukewarm.
$BTC is consolidating with lower volume. I actually think that’s a good thing: both bulls and bears are holding their breath for direction—don’t rush to take a stance.
For the event-driven $HYPE , I’ll wait for a pullback and enter in batches; I won’t chase. NFA, DYOR
