What does it take to change the map of the world or to start a third world war? Nuclear weapons? A powerful economy? Or maybe a massive army equipped with modern warfare? If I say that none of these is the case, and that the biggest cause of the next world war could be a common red cow grazing on grass in a farm in Texas—would you believe it?

It may sound like a cheap thriller movie plot or unrealistic imagination, but sometimes reality is more frightening than fiction. We usually think that the world’s major conflicts happen based on economics, oil fields, supply chains, or geographical borders. According to the strong beliefs of a certain part of the Jews and Christians, they believe that the third temple must be built on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. And woven into the construction of this temple are the conditions for the arrival of their own Messiah or savior.

According to their ancient law, only after offering this red cow as a sacrifice and then purifying the priests with its ash can they enter that sacred place. To fulfill these unbelievable conditions, a massive logistical network and supply chain has been built—from Texas to Israel. It would outmatch the global operations of any multinational company. With costs in the tens of millions, crossing international borders, complying with complex veterinary laws and quarantine rules, these cows have been taken to Israel with extreme care.

Here, the most surprising and thought-provoking aspect is an unusual alliance. On one side are America’s evangelical Christians; on the other are Israel’s hardline Orthodox Jews. What’s interesting is that the two groups do not share the same final religious beliefs. But when a defense secretary or speaker of a superpower like America—who holds control of the world’s most powerful military forces—talks about war using references from the Bible, then it’s no longer just a personal belief. It becomes a terrifying global threat.

Ordinary people may only be seeing breaking news on TV that tensions are rising in the Middle East. But they don’t know that one of the fuels behind this tension is a well-planned attempt to forcibly make real—artificially—the prophecy from thousands of years ago. And millions upon millions of dollars are being poured into that effort.

So this is no longer a theory or a blueprint from a drawing board. Not only has the red cow been prepared—special garments for the temple priests have already been made. Special silver trumpets or horns have been prepared as well. Even a portable altar has been readied on a flatbed truck.

That is to say, as soon as they get the chance, at any moment they will be able to begin their rituals. Just imagine the level of this preparation with a calm mind. For the same crime, one side gets the death penalty and the other side gets ordinary justice—laws like these prove that they are proceeding without any concealment.

They believe that their late leader will be resurrected and finish this unfinished work. The incident that recently shook the world—where they were digging a massive tunnel under their headquarters in Brooklyn, New York—also has its roots deep within the same belief.

These groups also have direct funding and connections with America’s influential political families. In other words, even if you want to, you can’t just dismiss these events as the actions of some crazy people. Behind them there is money, there is political influence, and most importantly, there is state patronage.

Looking at America’s mega-churches, you see the same picture. There, thousands of people are being told that giving unconditional support to Israel is their religious duty. Organizations like Christians United for Israel are raising millions of dollars in funding, and that money goes directly into projects like building this red cow or the third temple.

These ordinary churchgoing people may not even realize that the money from their donations is being spent on a project that could pull the government—running on their own tax money—toward a terrible war. Their faith is being manipulated with great subtlety. This is an outstanding and frightening example of mass psychology control.

This has shown that the conflict we are seeing in Gaza or the West Bank is not just a fight over land seizure. Behind it is a terrifying theological—religious—agenda. As long as this agenda remains, it won’t be possible to permanently solve the problem through any agreement or temporary ceasefire.
