Grayscale divides shares of the Zcash ETF fund into 3 shares
Zcash (ZEC) is a privacy coin in which transaction details can be fully hidden: the sender, the recipient, and the amount.
In August, Grayscale converted the Zcash Trust fund into ZCSH, the first spot Zcash ETF in the world.
Investors poured $233 million in just one month, including $112 million on a single day on September 8.
ZEC rose by about 2,800% over the year, reaching $1,521 on Friday.
The issue? ETF shares cannot be bought in small fractions like cryptocurrencies, so a sharp rise in the share price may make entry harder for smaller investors.
Solution: a 3-for-1 stock split:
September 28: record date for owners.
September 29: distribution of the new shares.
September 30: trading begins at the adjusted price after the split.
The ticker will remain ZCSH and the same CUSIP number.
