Corporate BTC allocations: last week shifted from net selling to net buying.
According to SoSoValue, as of 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on September 21, 2026, global publicly listed companies (excluding mining companies) had net bought approximately $183 million worth of Bitcoin over the past week. Strategy, after a two-week pause, purchased an additional 950 BTC. The trade was executed at $79,670 per BTC, totaling about $75.7 million. As a result, its total holdings increased to 846,000 BTC. Metaplanet in Japan has not bought for ten consecutive weeks; Bitmine announced the purchase of 1 BTC after 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time on September 14. Strive announced on September 21 that it bought 1,355 BTC during the previous week.
This set of data looks more like a sign that corporate treasury attitudes toward BTC have not simply turned around in unison, but are clearly diverging. One observation is that once selling pressure flips back to buy orders, the institutional treasury demand line may be easier for the market to monitor. Another observation is that Strategy’s actions alone are not enough to prove that buying has spread to more companies.
Going forward, there are two things worth watching most: whether net buying can continue, and whether corporate buying can still step in when BTC retraces. Which matters more to you—"buying consistency" or "spreading to more companies"?
