According to a report by Malaysia’s “New Straits Times,” two Chinese men, Chen Le (36) and Zhong Guoxuan (31), pleaded guilty on September 21 at the Johor Bahru Magistrates’ Court in Johor for conspiring to carry out a fake cryptocurrency investment scam. Each was fined 4,700 Malaysian ringgit (about US$1,150). The charge sheet shows that the two allegedly jointly planned the scam on September 11 at a local resort, and they were charged with criminal conspiracy. The report did not disclose the actual amount of the alleged scam or the number of victims.
