I’ve drawn down more than 800k and lost half—so I’m going to take a few days off. I originally came out to play and didn’t plan to open a position. On Friday I saw that the altcoins were all flying, and Bitcoin wasn’t moving up very strongly, so I shorted. At the time it felt like the way the altcoins were pumping was a bit like a pre-collapse sign. By evening, when the market rallied, it did so with a big volume and a strong bullish candle—it looked like it might break out, so I reversed and went long. I had an unrealized profit of $80k on the long but didn’t close; then it fell back to 80,500 and I broke even and exited. At that point, Ethereum moved to fill the gap and rose to 2660; it also formed an ascending-triangle pressure gap and then pulled back. I felt there was a high chance it would move into the descending wave of the ascending triangle. The gap in the down wave was around 2200, so I shorted again. I got tricked by that bounce. My Ethereum short/decision in the morning at 2700 without cutting the loss was in line with Bitcoin as the reference. If Bitcoin doesn’t break above 82,800, then it doesn’t count as a real breakout. If it does break out, there’s no need to hold. I’ll wait and find my market sense, then trade again. My path to success is really full of obstacles……..
