#canaryfilessecondamendmentforstakedseietf 🚨 CANARY FILES AMENDMENT FOR STAKED $SEI ETF 🟣📑
Canary Capital has filed Pre-Effective Amendment No. 2 to the registration statement for its proposed Canary Staked $SEI ETF, according to an SEC filing dated September 15, 2026.
🔥 Around 90% of SEI Expected to Be Staked
One of the key updates in the amended prospectus is the ETF's staking strategy.
Canary states that, under normal circumstances, it anticipates at least 90% of the Trust's SEI will be staked. The remaining SEI may be kept available for expected redemptions, expenses, liquidity needs or other asset-protection purposes.
This would allow the proposed ETF to seek additional SEI through participation in the network's proof-of-stake process, alongside its primary objective of providing exposure to the price of SEI.
🔐 BitGo Named as Custodian
The amended filing identifies BitGo Trust Company, Inc. as the custodian responsible for holding the Trust's SEI.
The filing says BitGo will hold the Trust's SEI on its behalf, while the staking program will operate through the ETF's service providers.
🏦 Planned Cboe BZX Listing
The proposed Canary Staked SEI ETF is structured to trade on the Cboe BZX Exchange, subject to the applicable regulatory process.
⚠️ Important: This Is NOT SEC Approval
The amendment is an important update to the ETF's registration process, but it does not mean the SEC has approved the ETF or that trading has been authorized.
The SEC filing itself states that the prospectus is preliminary and that the securities cannot be sold until the registration statement becomes effective.
