Regulation finally gives the green light to on-chain U.S. stocks. The SEC has just issued a temporary exemption allowing tokenized U.S. stocks to be traded on-chain, and leading the way is ONDO.
It became the first crypto protocol to issue tokenized securities based on the DTCC’s tokenization service, and its broker partners have also received FINRA approval. Previously, on-chain trading of U.S. stocks was mostly a shadowy mirror of offshore SPVs, but now real, compliant securities ownership is actually moving in.
After so long of sideways consolidation in weekly charts, many people thought RWA was just a concept-driven hype. But once the regulatory exemption is issued and traditional clearing giants plug in, if this kind of compliance barrier is established, the off-exchange capital looking to enter later basically has no real alternative options.
