Past 24-Hour Crypto Volatility Alert
There has been a very clear change in the market over the past 24 hours: BTC is still rising, but what’s truly going wild now is the altcoins.
BTC is currently consolidating around $81,000; ETH has regained the 2,600 level and broken above 2,700, suggesting that the broader market’s risk appetite is still recovering. More notably, Layer 1 coins such as NEAR, AVAX, and SUI are clearly outperforming BTC—NEAR even surged by more than 20% at one point, while AVAX’s 24-hour gain exceeds 15%.
On the other hand, ZEC remains strong and has become a very obvious high-beta asset in this round of capital rotation; meanwhile, the GameFi sector saw a pullback of over 9%. It’s still altcoins, but capital has started to differentiate significantly.
So the biggest signal right now isn’t “a broad-based rally across crypto,” but that capital is searching for directions with greater elasticity.
For the short term, key watchpoints could include: whether BTC can keep defending the $80,000 level; whether ETH can turn 2,700 from resistance into support; whether strong Layer 1s like NEAR and AVAX can see a second wave of volume expansion after a rally; and for ZEC, keeping an eye on profit-taking after consecutive big gains.
The risks are also clear: over the past 24 hours, trading volume in the crypto market increased significantly, and total market cap is already nearing $2.9 trillion—indicating that capital activity has clearly picked up. But in this kind of fast-rotation market, chasing rallies and cutting losses can make it much easier to be repeatedly “harvested.”
What I’m paying more attention to now is one signal: BTC holds steady, ETH breaks through, and the altcoins ramp up with follow-through via rising volume—if all three conditions are met at the same time, this market move has a chance to evolve from a BTC rebound into sector rotation.
Conversely, if BTC falls back below $80,000, ETH loses 2,600 again, and the strong altcoins begin to collectively see volume shrink, then this little climax needs to guard against slipping into a profit-taking phase.
