According to Sina Finance, ANZ said in a statement that it has raised its interest-rate forecast for the Reserve Bank of Australia and added one more rate-hike expectation. ANZ now expects the RBA to raise rates by 25 basis points in September and again in November, lifting the cash rate to 4.85%, the highest level since 2008. The bank still expects the first rate cut to come in November 2027, followed by another 25-basis-point cut in February 2028. ANZ economists Adam Boyton and Jack Chambers said they expect the RBA Board to keep a slow and cautious pace when it eventually cuts rates, given the rapid rebound in inflation after the previous easing cycle ended.
