An app with an obvious payload can still pass App Store review, and on iOS there’s also a sandbox vulnerability that allows one app to read another app’s private key—so the problem is at the platform level, not because ordinary users are “just being careless.”

Let this be a long-lasting alarm: never enter seed phrases/private keys into any app. Move large amounts only with a hardware wallet or self-custody in an isolated environment. If iOS has a new version, update proactively!
