The market has really been good lately—BTC has held steady at 80,000, and altcoins are starting to go wild too. But many brothers are getting confused instead: holding USDT/U, they don’t know which one to go for; chasing the rally risks getting trapped, and not buying means risking missing out.
Actually, one of the most basic logics behind making money in crypto is to master sector rotation. The crypto world has never been a “let a hundred flowers bloom” situation—it’s more like “huddling together for mutual warmth.” There’s only so much money; it always goes all-in on some sector, milks it dry, and then moves on to the next one.
Today I’m going to lay out for everyone the “leaders” and the “followers” among the mainstream sectors in the crypto market right now. Remember: only go for the leaders, or the absolute “possible to rebound” followers—don’t touch the miscellaneous odds and ends.
1. Ethereum L2 sector (long-term positioning)
Watch these: ARB, OP, STRK, ZK, CELO.
In this track, ARB is absolutely the boss with the steadiest chart. The others are more like rotational followers—just take your turn and fill in the slots in order.
Also pay attention to infrastructure serving L2 (the “shovels,” i.e., tools)—for example, CELR, CTSI, SKL. And there’s LINEA; this wave hasn’t lifted much yet, so you can重点 consider a catch-up opportunity there.
2. Privacy sector (妖币 appear frequently)
Big-brother effect: ZEC, DASH, ZEN, XVG.
The absolute main character in this sector is ZEC (the Big Zero coin); the other ones are just side dishes. Recently, heat in the privacy track has been picking back up—when ZEC moves, DASH and the others will follow immediately.
Also, keep an eye on ZAMA, ZKP, and MINA, which have privacy concepts and ZK technology—their charts look solid too.
3. Public chain sector (a favorite of big capital)
Stick to these large caps: SUI, HYPE, AVAX, APT.
For public chains—this space has plenty of capital, and large caps tend to move more steadily. Don’t mess with those public chains ranked dozens of spots down; they lack liquidity, so they pump slowly and dump quickly.
4. AI sector (focus on the leader)
Large-cap picks: NEAR, WLD, TAO, VVV, VIRTUAL.
AI is a long-term narrative, but capital only cares about large caps. Ignore small-cap AI coins—when “everything is pumping” on AI concepts, small-cap AI is actually more likely to go to zero. Just focus on these few leaders.
5. Lending and DeFi sector (tried-and-true, solid)
Lending and borrowing to watch: AAVE, COMP, MORPHO. AAVE is the absolute leader; its price action has always been very strong. Don’t bother looking at other smaller-cap coins—there’s no need.
DeFi to watch: CRV, ENA. They’re both large-cap coins, and when they rally, they move pretty hard too.
6. DEX sector (new and old rotate)
Watch: HYPE, UNI, ASTER.
Hyperliquid (HYPE) is currently getting all the attention. UNI is the old-school king, and Aster is what Binance-chain-related traders have been hot-roasting recently. That’s all three you need to look at—no need to consider the rest.
💡 Core principles: the underlying logic that drives correlations
Why have you been asked to find a sector? Because in crypto there aren’t many secrets—the correlation between sectors is the most basic rule.
When UNI (Uniswap) pumps, SUSHI (SushiSwap) will most likely follow and correlate;
When XRP (Ripple) pumps, XLM (Stellar) will likely fly too;
When ZEC pumps, DASH absolutely can’t hold back.
How do you operate?
Keep a close eye on the sector leaders. When the leader takes off, the followers will inevitably jump on the bandwagon. You either board the leader decisively when it’s just starting up, or after the leader’s uptrend is confirmed, lay low and wait to buy the little brother that hasn’t moved much yet—then you wait for capital to overflow and play catch-up.
But remember this: the leader is always the one that pumps the hardest and holds up the best. The little brothers are just supporting roles.
This post basically maps out the sector layout of the current market for everyone. When the market is good, don’t rush in blindly—map out the tracks, identify the leaders, and track them. Only by doing more research, watching more, and studying more can you last long in the crypto world.
