🐋 Whales are eyeing altcoins — but acting in a targeted way
Against the backdrop of ongoing uncertainty in the crypto market, large wallets are not fully going into waiting-mode. On-chain data shows increased activity around a number of liquid altcoins, especially in DeFi.
🔥 UNI — one of the most notable examples. In early September, Nansen recorded a rise in the amount of UNI held in wallets associated with large holders: roughly from 3.20 million to 3.46 million UNI. Later, interest in the token continued — among large buyers, a wallet linked to Arthur Hayes was noted, which acquired about 284k UNI for around $2 million.
At the same time, the picture is not unambiguously bullish: on September 18, one large holder transferred/sold about 600k UNI worth roughly $5.1 million.
📊 Conclusion: big capital really does show interest in certain altcoins, but so far it looks more like a selective reshuffling of positions than a broad-based start of “altseason.”
