Foresight News message: The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance (ASI Alliance) posted that it has confirmed that the FET token migration and cross-chain architecture were attacked. Other tokens within the related infrastructure were also affected. The team has responded and is working with security partners to handle the matter. ASI Alliance stated that the attacker extracted approximately $1.56 million worth of FET from the token conversion contract. The treasury wallet and exchange wallet were not affected. Users’ self-custody wallets or FET stored on exchanges are unaffected. Token holders need to take no action. After the investigation is completed, a full incident report will be published.
Foresight News notes that the ASI Alliance was formed in 2024 by the merger of Fetch.ai, SingularityNET, and CUDOS. The circulating token continues to use Fetch.ai’s original code, FET. The plan was to change the token code to ASI in the second phase, but the proposal was shelved due to issues including exchanges delisting and re-listing the token, impacts on perpetual futures contracts, and the loss of historical price data.
