On-chain tokenized stock daily trading volume on the Solana blockchain reached $200 million, surpassing the combined total of tokenized stock business on the Nasdaq and NYSE on the same day—by about $100 million.
This number is worth pausing to think about.
Two of the world’s largest traditional stock exchanges, in their own home-market business, were outplayed in their tokenized-stock arena by a decentralized exchange running on a single public chain—five days before the SEC Innovation Exemption was officially released.
A few details from the Sept. 12 trading session are especially noteworthy: Raydium (the largest DEX on Solana) handled about 70% of the volume by itself; 63% of the trades occurred during after-hours trading of U.S. equities—when the doors of both the NYSE and Nasdaq were closed; that day, the total supply of tokenized stocks reached a new all-time high the next day at $684 million, with 727,000 holders.
This isn’t an isolated single-day figure. Throughout the year, Solana has consistently accounted for 85% to 95% of global on-chain tokenized stock trading volume.
Then on Sept. 17, the SEC issued the Innovation Exemption—requiring tokenized securities platforms to be deployed on a “public, permissionless distributed ledger.” This condition directly targeted Solana’s technical architecture, effectively keeping private chains and consortium chains out of the door.
On Sept. 18, Solana reduced its block time from 300ms to 250ms (SIMD-0525, Phase 3). This is the third speed-up this year, as it step by step moves toward its Alpenglow end goal of 150ms.
As speed increases, the regulatory framework is aligning, and market share is expanding—SOL currently holds a total tokenized stock amount of $465 million, ranking first among all public chains, while the second-place chain isn’t even in the same order of magnitude.
On Sept. 19, SOL climbed above $110, a seven-month high, with about 56% remaining before the all-time high of $253. Standard Chartered’s year-end target price for SOL is $180.
Are you guys holding SOL and riding this wave of tokenized-stock narrative that keeps gaining momentum? Tell me your position logic.
