Deep Tide TechFlow message: On September 20, Taiyuan Chengming Technology sent a legal letter to Zhipu, regarding ZCode’s automatic upload of a complete workspace. It claimed that the data involved includes source code, system architecture, database passwords, and cloud service credentials, and demanded that Zhipu explain how the data is stored, transferred across borders, shared with third parties, and used for model training. It also demanded that related data be thoroughly deleted from servers, caches, and backups, and that access logs and deletion proof be provided.
Previously, Zhipu said the issue stemmed from the “code repository indexing” feature that had been enabled by default in the early stage. The company said it has already fixed the problem and promised to open-source ZCode and accept third-party review.
