#巴菲特卸任伯克希尔董事长
Warren Buffett, the “stock god” of the human generation, has officially completed the historic handover.

Yesterday, Berkshire Hathaway announced that the board elected Howard Buffett to succeed as chairman,

with the 96-year-old Warren Buffett becoming honorary chairman, effective immediately.

Buffett has three children in total:

Eldest daughter: Susie. Second son: Howard Buffett. Youngest son: Pete

And the one taking over the chairmanship this time is the second son, who is already 71 years old.

In his letter to shareholders, Buffett said that this is the most appropriate time to complete the handover, and that it is also the final key step in Berkshire’s succession plan.

Buffett described his son’s role as a policy in the hands of shareholders—one that they hope never has to pay a claim on.

Howard’s core task is to uphold Berkshire’s culture and values, ensuring that the company’s foundation remains unchanged after the founder is gone.

As for the estate, Buffett has already arranged everything in advance: after his death, 99% of his assets will be placed with three children to jointly manage a charitable foundation, and all of it must be donated within 10 years.

With the 96-year-old Buffett stepping into the background, the 71-year-old son officially takes office.

In the Buffett family, 70 is the age when people start getting things done.
