The Big Cake is rallying—this time it’s not because of good news.
On Saturday, it held steadily above 81,000. This roughly 6% bounce was lifted on Friday—one kick and it stepped over the 80,000 barrier.
What’s interesting is the backdrop at the same time: the oil market is tense, U.S. Treasury yields are trending higher, and regulators haven’t released any good news either. 🤔
After watching the chart for a few days, the biggest feeling I have is that—this script is a bit different from before. Previously, when good news came, everyone rushed upward. This time, there’s a pile of bad news, yet the price climbs on its own. Some call it “bad news exhausted”; I’d rather understand it as: the people who wanted to exit have already exited for the most part, and the remaining supply isn’t willing to sell cheaply anymore.
But don’t treat a headwind as if the wind has stopped. Those two strings—oil and bonds—are still taut. It wouldn’t be surprising if they turn around and apply pressure again at any time. Just because price can push forward a few steps against the wind doesn’t mean the wind will always be on your side.
📊 I’d like to hear your take: has this rebound truly changed the trend, or is it just another opportunity for swapping out at higher prices?
