Last week, 14 crypto ETFs were ranked by performance.
The champion was neither Bitcoin nor Ethereum.
The one that took first place was the privacy coin Zcash.
It pulled in $98.2 million in one week.
Neither Bitcoin nor Solana’s products managed to outrun it.
The Ethereum ETF, however, saw net outflows of $140 million.
The issuer is Grayscale.
It was only listed on the NYSE on August 25.
To date, it has accumulated net inflows of over $233 million.
On September 8 alone, it surged with $112 million.
On Wednesday, it added another $46.6 million.
Net assets are about $890 million, with a trading volume exceeding $11 billion.
On September 18, it also announced a 1-for-3 split.
The record was registered at the close on September 28, and trades began at the post-split price on the 30th.
Shares increase, and the per-share price looks cheaper.
ZEC itself hasn’t been idle either.
On Friday, it briefly surged to $1,521.
This was the strongest upward push for a privacy coin this year.
But for the whole sector last week, it was net outflows of $70.7 million.
Money didn’t go into Bitcoin—it squeezed into privacy coins.
This direction is worth keeping an eye on.
Long-time players know this: Zcash has been talking about privacy for a decade.
In the past, it didn’t have much of a place in institutions’ eyes.
But this year, it was suddenly picked up.
As for Bitcoin ETFs, they’re still half-asleep.
Overall, there have been net outflows, and buy-side demand is clearly lagging.
Instead, products from smaller niche tracks are stealing the spotlight.
Some think this is just short-term capital rotation.
Privacy coin offerings are smaller, and they can move in and out quickly.
The kinds of assets that rally hard often pull back hard too.
📌 Capital is switching directions: not Bitcoin, not Ethereum.
In this wave for privacy coins—are you going to chase it? Let’s chat in the comments.
