#Judge in California objects to part of TikTok’s $400 million settlement
A federal judge in California preliminarily rejected a portion of a $400 million settlement struck by the U.S. government with TikTok over alleged violations of children’s privacy, which may keep additional oversight on the social media platform, according to Bloomberg.

On Friday, Federal Judge George H. Wu preliminarily denied a request to vacate a court order that had originally been imposed on Musical.ly, the former TikTok company that was acquired by ByteDance, headquartered in Beijing.

The court order covers protection of the privacy of users under 13 years old.
