million for F-35 aircraft
The U.S. Department of Defense granted Lockheed Martin an amendment worth $871,243,964 on an existing contract related to support equipment and sustainment efforts for the F-35 Lightning II aircraft, as announced by the ministry on Friday.
This amendment raises the contract’s ceiling to provide additional capacity for support equipment as part of efforts to activate F-35 sites and non-recurring equipment sustainment. The contract covers initial supplies and services to establish and activate land-based and naval F-35 aircraft operating sites.
This work supports both the U.S. Air Force and Marines, as well as the Navy, along with program cooperative partners and foreign military sales customers. The work will be carried out in El Segundo, California (90%), and Fort Worth, Texas (10%), with completion expected in February 2031.
