This set of data is a bit painful.
In the past three months, publicly listed companies bought only 5,900 coins.
Compared with the same period last year, it’s almost an emergency stop.

Back then, in those three months, companies added over 100,000 coins.
Just in July alone last year, they swallowed 89,000 coins.
Converted into dollars, that was more than $8.9 billion spent at the time.

Now these 5,900 coins are less than 7% of that.
At $76,000, that’s only about $450 million.
The money isn’t small, but the momentum is completely different.

Of these 5,900 coins, most were bought by the same person.
The biggest holder is Strategy, listed on the Nasdaq.
At the end of August, it bought 4,603 coins in one go.

The rest of the companies are basically just watching from the sidelines.
No one is willing to take deliveries at this level.
It’s a stark contrast to the scene last year, when they were rushing to buy.

What’s even more awkward is the cost.
The average cost for coin-stockpiling companies is about $80,500.
Lately the coin price has been hovering around $77,000.

By the math, the whole market is still down roughly 6%.
Glassnode puts it very directly.
The $80,500 line is both their cost basis and their pressure point.

In the whole market, 181 listed companies are stockpiling coins.
Together they hold 1.22 million coins.
Strategy alone accounts for 845,000 coins.

The ETF side isn’t doing any better.
Since August, money has indeed flowed in for dozens of billions of dollars.
But when you add it up for the year, it still falls short of turning profitable by another $1 billion.

The stablecoin track is even quieter.
This year, total supply has stayed between $300 billion and $310 billion.
Even the rebound in August didn’t bring in much fresh money.

So this rebound has a slightly different feel.
Old buyers aren’t chasing, and new money isn’t in a hurry.
Just relying on sentiment—can it really push prices higher?

📌 Coin-stockpiling whales collectively hit the brakes, and $80,500 has become the ceiling above their heads.

At this level, would you add to your position, or wait a bit longer? 🤔
