On Hyperliquid, RWA trades have picked up, and it even drew Dragonfly’s Haseeb Qureshi to come out specifically to speak in defense of multi-chain. The rally is lively—I’d rather see the rest.
On-chain, when you buy a share, what you’re buying is the price, not the paper. It’s like renting an apartment: you live comfortably, but the deed isn’t in your name. Only when you’re actually ready to move out—whether the keys can be handed over—does it count as the real deal.
Whether it’s multi-chain or not isn’t the main issue. What matters is who holds those off-chain assets, whether they hold them properly, and whether redemption can actually be fulfilled. Even if trading volume keeps rising, it can’t lift the issue of a custodian.
I’ll watch two numbers slowly: over the next six months, whether there’s a big RWA redemption that is publicly completed end to end; and whether the on-chain price-to-spot price spread gradually narrows. Once these two are stable, then we can talk about maturity.
