Binance Completes OP-Chain USDT Swap and Announces Wallet Upgrade
On September 18, Binance announced that the USDT contract swap on the Optimism network has been completed. USDT deposits and withdrawals on this chain have been reopened. The new contract is USDT0, while the old contract has been renamed to OPUSDTE. This marks the wrap-up after the suspension window on September 17. Spot and derivatives trading had not been interrupted previously.
On the same schedule, the platform also previewed a wallet infrastructure upgrade starting at 14:00 (UTC+8) on September 22. Deposits and withdrawals are expected to be paused for about one hour, while trading remains normal. On September 18 as well, some low-liquidity USDC spot trading pairs will be delisted as planned. This does not remove the underlying assets themselves from spot.
